Up Our Street is the successor organisation of Community at Heart. We formed in 2009 as a merger of Community at Heart and Easton Community Partnership.
Community at Heart was the ten year New Deal for Communities regeneration programme in Barton Hill, Lawrence Hill, Redfield and The Dings. It ran from 2000 to 2010 and was funded by the government. It was an independent charity and company with a board of trustees and a staff team of up to 80 people at its peak. It delivered a range of programmes covering health, environment, housing, youth, sport, community safety, education and the arts. Its legacy includes Barton Hill Academy and Wellspring Healthy Living Centre.
Easton Community Partnership was a Neighbourhood Renewal programme which ran from around 2006 to 2009. This was also funded by the government but was a project delivered by staff employed by Bristol City Council. It had its own board of trustees but was not a separate organisation.
